Shadow Dreams
20 January 2021
A unique and inspiring performance by Tasmania’s two leading arts companies that takes place simultaneously in two cities, linked by high-speed broadband.
Dale, a Tasmanian Aboriginal boy, has one life, living on a hill in the bush. Pete has another, living on a hill in the city. Two boys, in two different parts of Tassie, go to bed one night and accidentally have each other’s dreams!
You and your children are amazed and inspired as the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and performers in one city interact live with musicians and performers in another city. Filmed images, puppets and music will interweave between the spaces in this highly original show. Graeme Koehne’s stunning score complements Finegan Kruckemeyer’s story of mystery and friendship in a magic realist, digital puppetry world first.
Shadow Dreams includes stories of Tasmanian Aboriginal people and is proudly supported by the Tasmanian Aboriginal Elders Council.
