HOW TO INCLUDE A GIFT IN YOUR WILL
- Contact us
We encourage anyone considering including a gift to Terrapin in their Will to speak with us about their wishes.
An unrestricted gift will ensure Terrapin can direct your generosity where it is needed most, as this can change over time. If you are thinking about directing your gift to a specific purpose or activity, we want to ensure your intentions are understood and can provide further information to make sure Terrapin can accept your gift in the future.
We would also love to acknowledge your thoughtful generosity.
- Discuss with your solicitor and your family
We recommend you seek the qualified advice of an independent solicitor before making or revising your Will.
When planning your Will, we know that protecting the future of our own family and friends comes first. If you choose to make a gift in your Will to Terrapin after your other considerations, sharing your intentions with your family and friends will help them understand and realise your wishes in the future.
- Confirm your gift
Provide an excerpt from your Will that details your gift to Terrapin, or have your legal representative notify us in writing that you have left a bequest to the organisation.
WORDING YOUR GIFT
To include Terrapin in your Will, we suggest the following wording:
‘I give [___percentage of Estate / the sum of $___ / ____per cent of my residual estate / specific items (s)___] to Terrapin Puppet Theatre Limited (ABN 34 009 527 511) or its legal successor. I declare that the receipt of Terrapin will be sufficient discharge to my Executors.’
If you already have a Will, you can still support Terrapin by adding a codicil, a legal provision that explains, modifies or revokes a Will. For advice on writing or amending your Will, we recommend you consult a solicitor, trustee or accredited Wills and estate specialist.
