Dogs can’t talk, and dogs can’t fly…or can they?

Boats

WINNER! 2012 HELPMANN AWARD - BEST PRESENTATION FOR CHILDREN

TOURING USA MARCH-MAY 2013

“A zephyr of pure originality and lyricism flows through this work....which simply carries one into a vivid and fantastical world.”

Boats is classic storytelling where the magic unfolds in front of the audience. The sound effects are created live, a boat is cut from bread, a bird tied from rope, a circus hides in a jacket, and finally a storm is made with a teacup.

Love

TOURING USA SPRING 2014

“Love is an amazingly multi-layered piece of visual theatre. It could even be one of those rare shows that burn brightly forever in the memories of the young children who are lucky enough to see it, for there is much here that is memorable.”

With a storm brewing, a small boy helps the people of his community to save the things they love the most - their 'love luggage'. The lyrical and heart driven writing of Finegan Kruckemeyer is brought to life with traditional puppets, digital puppetry, stunning music and Terrapin’s trademark silly business. Join a very brave 10-year-old, as he races against the elements and discovers a whole world of stories, all held in a milk-float’s worth of objects.

Sleeping Horses Lie

“A spectacular performance...a visual and sensory feast."

"A visual action-packed delight.”

Sally Saber wanted to be a tiger; sharp and unafraid. But there was never anything to fear. Her parents made sure Sally was always safe. Until one night Sally found she was the only one awake in her house. Everything familiar suddenly turned strange.
This would be no ordinary night.

Shadow Dreams

A truly unique and inspiring performance by Tasmania’s two leading arts companies that takes place simultaneously in two cities, linked by high-speed broadband. Dale has one life, living on a hill in the bush.

Pete has another, living on a hill in the city. Two boys, in two different parts of Tassie, go to bed one night and accidentally have each other’s dreams!

A collaboration with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra presented in association with Ten Days on the Island.

Helena and the Journey of the Hello

“Helena and the Journey of the Hello is wonderful, in the truest sense of that word–filled with strange and intriguing delight. It's bursting with images and ideas...”

Helena and the Journey of the Hello is a kid’s picture book tale in a crossed line conversation with contemporary times. Children and adults alike are amazed at what is possible with a mobile phone, a coat and an old iron bed as they are taken on the journey of the hello.

The Falling Room and the Flying Room

“Puppets, props and set are all wonderfully loopy, and the puppetry itself - whether physical or virtual - offers moments of genuine surprise and joy”

The Falling Room and the Flying Room is about the power of imagination. Using contemporary multimedia and electronics, digital puppetry and powerful performances to create magic , the show tells the story of a boy who lives in an imaginary world of mechanical wizardry but emerges from it to embrace his family.

Explosion Therapy

“Visual tricks, virtual and real, abound….Cartoon capers come to life. Puppetry, film, animation, sound, music and technical elements work as one with live action. Technically, visually, aurally and performatively, this is a marvellous work.”

Explosion Therapy is an intoxicating world where the characters leap between a film screen and the stage, as though the two spaces are one.
It borrows from the world of cartoons and vaudeville. Objects and puppets emerge from the most unlikely places as the entire theatre comes alive.
